Le présent Choix d'inscriptions de Delphes réunit un peu plus de 300 documents, qui s'échelonnent du haut archaïsme à l'époque contemporaine : il s'efforce de refléter la réalité de l'épigraphie delphique, sans exclure ni les textes banals, ni les séries répétitives. Destiné aux étudiants avancés, qu'ils sachent ou non le grec, aux historiens, aux hellénistes non épigraphistes, aux épigraphistes débutants, voire aux épigraphistes confirmés, mais peu familiers des inscriptions de Delphes, il vise à faciliter l'accès à la signification littérale et à la portée historique des textes retenus. À cette fin, chaque document est accompagné d'une traduction, d'un commentaire et, le cas échéant, d'une amorce de bibliographie qui permet au lecteur à la fois de le replacer dans son contexte et d'en approfondir l'étude. - Un index analytique, qui remplit également la fonction de glossaire, complète le volume. The current volume Choix d'inscriptions de Delphes (i.e. Selected Inscriptions from Delphi) brings together some 300 documents, dating from the Early Archaic period to the present: it strives to reflect the reality of Delphic epigraphy, excluding neither trivial texts nor repetitive series. The collection is intended for advanced students, irrespective of their knowledge of Greek, historians, hellenists with noepigraphic background, beginner epigraphists, as well as established epigraphists unfamiliar with the inscriptions from Delphi, and it aims to facilitate access to the textual meaning and the historic value of the selected texts. For this purpose, each document is accompanied by a translation, a commentary, and when relevant, a basic bibliography allowing the reader both to place the text in its context and to study it in depth. - An analytical index, which also functions as a glossary, completes the volume.
