Rail transport makes an incomparable contribution to the lives of populations and, more generally, to the development of the countries that have adopted it. The levers of this sector constitute powerful assets for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the integration of territories in Europe, Africa, and around the world. The economic and state sovereignty issues associated with the rail sector are addressed.
